Maynard and Jennica

Maynard and Jennica
by Rudolph Delson

Houghton Mifflin

I'm a sucker for unconventional love stories, especially ones set in New York City. Just count my Woody Allen DVD's.

"Maynard and Jennica" perfectly fits that criteria. It's the tale of Maynard, a struggling NYC composer and filmmaker who falls in love with Jennica, a California transplant.  The author, Rudolph Delson, cleverly uses outside narrators to tell their tale, allowing everyone from friends to dead ancestors to hip-hop superstars to weigh in on their relationship.

Delson has created a clever, modern love story. Even the most jaded urban hipsters will find something to love in it.
