Why are you seeking office: I am seeking reelection. I have been clerk for 18 years.
If elected, what would some of your main goals be: If re-elected, I plan to make conservatism, accountability and technology priorities. I have always been a very conservative individual and this fact shows in my office. Funds are used wisely and carefully. I know that I am responsible to the citizens and I always will feel that way. I strive daily to keep the financial records, courts records, Board of County Commissioners minutes and the Office Records in an orderly and useful way. Records are digitally stored since 2004 and prior to that date, records are kept on microfilm and computer backups and replicated at off-site storage. I will keep current computer programs updated as needed.
Qualifications: I have worked in the Clerk’s Office as Deputy Clerk for 31 years, 1 year as Chief Deputy Clerk for Honorable Mike McLellan (deceased) and 18 years as Clerk of Circuit Court. I feel this experience, training and knowledge makes me uniquely qualified for the office. I am certified by the Supreme Court due to the training programs prided to the Clerks of Court in Florida. The requirement for certification is 36 hours yearly of continued education and training. I take advantage of all training programs that would assist me in the performance of the duties of the Clerk.
Last movie you watched: I don’t go to the movies very much—I enjoy watching re-runs on television. I enjoy watching “Little House on the Prairie” and “The Waltons” re-runs with my youngest granddaughter.
You favorite album: My favorite album would be any of the albums of “The Statler Brothers” or “Gold City Quartet.”
If the primary race had a talent contest, your talent would be: My talent would be getting along with people and assisting them when possible. I am a “people” person and enjoy working and helping others.
How do you relax: When I feel stressed out, I relax by being with my which includes my husband, daughter, and granddaughters. We also have lots of out-of-town family who visit with us, and I enjoy that as well.

Why are you seeking office: To bring fiscal accountability and open government to Santa Rosa.
If elected, what would some of your main goals be: If elected, I will save the county over $250,000/year by not filling to retiring chief deputy clerks who are making $94, 650 each. I will post all checks issued by the clerk and comptroller on behalf of the County Commissioners on my web page. You will have open and transparent government which will have accountability.
Qualifications: My business degree from Florida State University. My 24 years’ experience as an investigator and supervisor of the Bureau of Investigations with the Florida Department of Financial Services.

If elected, what would some of your main goals be: I want to reorganize the Sheriff’s Office, to improve services to the citizens and improve the working environment.
Qualifications: I graduated from Pensacola Junior College with a degree in Criminal Justice and have numerous hours of training relating to law lnforcement. I worked with the SRC sheriff’s 0ffice over 25 yrs. and retired with the rank of captain. During my career, I worked in, supervised and prepared the budget for just about every division within the agency.

Why are you seeking office: I am privileged to be an individual who serves in a job that meets my passion. I love education and for the past 28 years have given back to students by teaching. Serving as Superintendent is a pleasure that marries that passion. The success of Santa Rosa County schools is a result from quality parents, communities and educators working together.
If elected, what would some of your main goals be: Over the next few years I hope to continue the academic success we have enjoyed and move our district to higher levels. As well, I am focused to continue managing our schools with effective fiscal policies that demonstrates our responsibility to be good stewards of the taxpayer’s money.
Qualifications: With 28 years of service in SRC that has taken me from the classroom to the Superintendent’s office, a thorough knowledge of the diversity of our great county and a vision for continuing the tremendous success of our students, I remain the best choice for Superintendent. I live here, I was raised here and I am passionate about preserving the quality of life we enjoy. In addition, I have a thorough understanding of all facets of educational life. I possess the skills necessary to continue to move our school district into higher levels of academic performance while managing our fiscal resources well.

Why are you seeking office: I am the current District 1 Commissioner seeking re-election. I would like to continue to help our county live within its means by balancing the budget without adding extra taxes to our citizens.
If elected, what would some of your main goals be: I want to help make sure any Restore funds we receive are used wisely and that there is complete transparency to the citizens of Santa Rosa County. Also, we are in the process of revamping the way we do economic development in Santa Rosa County. I want to make sure there is accountability to the taxpayer who has been providing the majority of the funding.
Qualifications: 8 years on the Milton City Council (1977-1985), 9 years on the Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners (1996-2001 and 2008-2012). Proven record of conservative common sense leadership and being debt free in my personal life and business.

Why are you seeking office: I have lived in this community over 25 years and operated my small business here during that time. I have been blessed to have had a successful business, raise and educate my family and meet many outstanding friends during that time. I believe that one should “give back” to the community that has supported them and I have tried to do this and will continue to do so.
If elected, what would some of your main goals be: I want to see the county re-establish its economic development arm and regain public trust, guard and pursue the BP fine money and plan how it will be spent and help encourage and nurture small business creation and expansion.
Qualifications: I have 25 years of experience running my small business and have had to make many difficult business decisions and work within budgets during that time. I have also served on a number of charity boards, professional boards, community boards and committees over the past 20 years. I have received a number of local and national awards for my leadership, ethics and volunteerism. This combination of long-term business ownership and community service makes me very qualified for this office.

I am a leader, encourager and motivator. I have the ability to lead large groups, be efficient and effective. Bottom line I have the ability to get the job done.

Why are you seeking office: I am seeking another term for this office for the same reason I ran in 1992. I want to five back to Santa Rosa County. I believe in public service. This county and school system has done so much for me. I cannot think of a better way to serve than to do what I can, as Board Member, to ensure that the children of Santa Rosa County receive the best public education possible.
If elected, what would some of your main goals be: The expectations of public education is ever-changing. The economic climate is still depressed. My hope and my priority is to not only maintain but to improve upon our outstanding student performance in spite of the challenges we face. Early in 2012, Santa Rosa County was ranked as the second highest performing school district in the state. I believe that with the outstanding teachers and administrators we have we can become the highest performing school district in the state.
Qualifications: I have the honor to have served as the elected School Board Member from District 2 since 1992. I have 20 years of proven experience and leadership. One of the strengths of our school district has been the stability at key leadership positions. Professionally, I am a pharmacist. I have been practicing for 36 years. Pharmacists are one of the most trusted professionals. I will bring that same level of trust to the citizens of Santa Rosa County as their School Board Member.

Why are you seeking office: I am seeking the office because I believe I have the necessary experience to offer the Board. As a former high school teachers, with six teachers in my family, I believe I will be a welcomed addition to the Board.
If elected, what would some of your main goals be: Provide a common sense, conservative approach to issues that come before the Board.
Qualifications: I have three years of college, graduate of a Seminary (BREd), plus numerous college courses. Served on committee to accredit six high schools under direction of Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Have served as president and/or Board Chair for numerous organizations, giving me verified leadership-team work experience needed on the School Board. Received numerous awards for community involvement, including Volunteer of the Year award from Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce, and Volunteer Marine of the Year from Cpl. J. R. Spears Detachment, Marine Corps League, traditional Key to City award, Long Beach, CA. Twelve year vet, USMC (personnel/finance). Currently: Board Chair, Milton Housing authority; Manager: Milton Cemetery; Executive Officer: Emerald Coast Young Marines. Active member: Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce; America Legion, Post 78; Marine Corps League; SR County Fair Committee. Retired: U.S. Postal Service, 22 years. (Elected union official, negotiated labor contracts, grievances, etc.” Lobbied legislation Managed several Congressional campaigns. Host parent for a foreign exchange student from Thailand who did his junior year at Milton High School.
Last movie you watched: “Bucket List” Having spent four years on the sets in Hollywood, and as a consultant on a Nick Cage movie, I do not regularly watch movies. They are not my idea of entertainment.
You favorite album: I am a Southern Gospel fan, like the Gaither’s and Country Western.
If the primary race had a talent contest, your talent would be: I shudder to think my candidacy is simply a “political” race, and especially not a “talent” nor a popularity contest. The School Board is not to be trivialized.
How do you relax: I seldom ever feel “stressed.” I relax with personal prayer. For other relaxing, I love to sky dive.

Why are you seeking office: I am seeking this office because I am very concerned about education in these depressed economic times.
If elected, what would some of your main goals be: Since 2009, SRC has lost 20 million dollars in State funding. I am certain the cuts will continue, but we cannot allow these cuts to effect the classroom. I want to help insure that our children and grandchildren receive the quality education they so deserve.
Qualifications: I am the most qualified in this race. I have both undergraduate and graduate degrees in education. I was a classroom teacher for more than 20 years and I was an administrator for 13 years. I retired in 2009 as principal of Gulf Breeze Middle School. I understand how Board decisions effect the classrooms and the students. I currently serve on the Board of Directors of the DR Education Foundation and I am on the Friends of Pace Library Committee. I am a passionate educator who wants to continue to make a difference in Santa Rosa County schools.

How do you relax: When I’m stressed, I listen to music or hit the treadmill.
