In honor of World Food Day, Ever’man Natural Foods joined cooperatives nation-wide in raising awareness and money for the “No Kid Hungry” campaign, throughout early October. The United Nations declared 2012 to be the “Year of the Cooperative.” As part of this initiative, food cooperatives, like Ever’man, are highlighted with the celebration of World Food Day. Cooperatives throughout the United States chose to reinvest this honor into the national community by banning together for the “No Kid Hungry” campaign from the Share Our Strength organization. This nonprofit strives to end child hunger in America. Ever’man participated in this national movement by hosting a yard sale on October 6 and donating 1 percent of store sales on October 13.
