“Bird Song” art exhibition opens at Veranda of Pensacola September 19. Meet the artist, Paula Takahashi, at an opening reception Sunday, September 19 from 2-4 p.m. at Veranda of Pensacola, 6982 Pine Forest Road.
“Bird Song” is an exhibit of quietude and tranquility featuring landscape and still life paintings & drawings by local artist Paula Takahashi. Takahashi is the primary Drawing and Painting instructor at Pensacola State College. She studied at the prestigious School of the Art Institute of Chicago under full scholarship and received her Masters of Art from Western Michigan University. Upon graduation, she spent several years in Japan studying art, language and culture.
While her work is primarily focused on landscape, still life and figures/portraits, teaching continues to renew her interest in these subjects as she seeks to balance with public explanation of how to create art with the need to create something personal and sacred to herself. “We are honored that Mrs. Takahashi has loaned her personal collection for display at Veranda, and we look forward to sharing her beautiful works with residents and guests,” said Michele Tassin-Gomez, Executive Director.
The exhibition is presented by Veranda of Pensacola, Northwest Florida’s finest in retirement living. The exhibit will run from September 19 through October 15.
