A&E: Call for artwork from young artists

Pensacola Little Theatre’s Treehouse Series showcases many talented young performers on stage. A young visual artist now has the chance to be PLT’s featured cover artist on this season’s Treehouse Theatre programs.

Children ages 5 to 13 are encouraged to submit their original designs. Judges will select the artwork that beset reflects the spirit of Treehouse Theatre and represents theatre arts, creativity, and teamwork. The contest is open to residents of Escambia Santa Rosa and Okaloosa Counties in Florida, and Baldwin, Escambia and Mobile Counties in Alabama. The deadline for entries is October 15, 2010.

The complete rules and information on how to submit entries are available online: http://www.pensacolalittletheatre.com/TreehouseCoverContestRules.pdf

Treehouse Programs are distributed to every audience member, and the winning artwork will be seen by more than 6,000 theatre patrons attending three Treehouse performances. In addition to publication, the artist will receive a FlexPass ($100 value), good for six tickets to any PLT production.

Last year’s winner was Molly Blake, then 13 years old, who created a happy, smiling character welcoming families to the theatre. (Cover image attached).
