Brown, who was featured in Independent News in September, is a self-taught nutritionist, with a certificate in plant-based nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Foundation at Cornell University. She is passionate about changing lives – and achieving weight-loss goals – through fueling the body, not feeding it.
“Ask yourself, ‘How much food is in your food?’” she said about healthy eating. “The more we process our foods the less nutrition they have. I’m not suggesting everyone eats a raw, vegan diet, but eat foods with at least 50 percent of nutrient density in it.”
If you find yourself wanting to make a healthy change, but don’t know how to start, Your Food Makeover retreat, will give you all the information you need. It doesn’t hurt to take advantage of the spa either with a relaxing massage or refreshing facial in between classes.
The cost of the retreat includes a two night, three day stay at Wind Creek, food and nutritional discovery workshops, food demos, six healthy meals (plus snacks), yoga classes and complete access to the spa wet areas such as whirlpool, meditation deck and garden, pool, fitness studio and dry sauna.
For Brown, the retreat is a way to reach out to people and change their lives.
“I feel compelled to help people,” she said. “I want to be a part of the solution not the problem.”
