Press Release: For the fifth consecutive year, Pensacola Opera is proud to partner once again with Jackson’s Steakhouse to present “Dinner and an Aria” on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013 at Jackson’s Steakhouse in downtown Pensacola.
Pensacola Opera’s Artists in Residence program, now in its tenth season, continues to provide training and performance experience for young opera professionals. In residence from January through May, these young artists perform roles on the main stage, cover principal roles, sing for numerous educational and community outreach programs — and perform at Jackson’s!
There will be two seatings for this event; 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. In addition to our full dinner menu, which will be available for the evening, Chef Miller has prepared a special-feature entrée: double cut Berkshire pork chop with Serrano pepper and apricot glaze, Sicilian-style collard greens and Gorgonzola whipped potatoes. The featured artists will perform classics from the operatic, musical theatre and jazz standard repertoire.
This is a limited-seating event with a sell-out crowd for the past four years! Opera is a great party — a visual and emotional spectacle that electrifies all the senses — so to reserve your table, please call Jackson’s Steakhouse, 469-9898.
“Dinner and an Aria” is a wonderful opportunity to experience opera in an up-close, personal environment and hear some remarkable young singers. This is a perfect event for opera aficionados and newcomers alike! The 2013 Pensacola Opera Artists in Residence are Jennifer Juilfs (soprano), Ashley Cutright (mezzo-soprano), Joseph Shadday (tenor) and Mitchell Hutchings (baritone) with Emily Senturia accompanying on the piano.
