H&W: Sports clinic returns for another season

After a successful inaugural year, Saturday Sports Care is back at The Orthopaedic Group, P.C. through the football playoffs in November. High school, college and professional athletes can receive immediate expert medical attention for sports-related injuries relating to bones, joints and muscles.

Every Saturday from 8-10:00 a.m. starting August 28, athletes throughout the Mobile area can visit The Orthopaedic Group’s Saturday Sports Care clinic for immediate orthopaedic care with no appointment required. Located at 6144 Airport Blvd., Mobile, the Saturday Sports Care clinic will be staffed by members of the Sports Medicine Center at The Orthopaedic Group. These physicians are fellowship- or specialty-trained physicians experienced in treating sports-related injuries.

In addition to expert diagnosis and treatment, the Saturday Sports Care clinic also offers services such as X-rays, MRIs, casting, bracing and physical therapy consultation all in one visit. The initial exam is free, but any X-rays, MRI, casting, bracing or follow up visits will incur a charge. Our goal is to help athletes get back in the game faster by receiving immediate medical care shortly after an injury occurs.

The Orthopaedic Group is the largest private orthopaedic practice in the area. With more fellowship-trained specialists and 10 locations throughout Alabama, The Orthopaedic Group has been recognized as the Gulf Coast’s leader in orthopaedic care for more than 40 years. The Orthopaedic Group proudly serves as team physicians for the University of Mobile, Spring Hill College and numerous local high schools. Our physicians also serve athletes who participate in the GMAC and Senior Bowl. For more information on the practice or the Saturday Sports Care clinic, visit, or call (251) 476-5050.
