Monday, Sept. 13

DeLuna Fest organizers announce locations for the distribution of free tickets for the last day of the festival next month. The group is giving out 20,000 tickets for the Oct. 17 date.

Tuesday, Sept. 14

Seven people are charged in the burglary of a home on Pensacola Beach. The ages of the suspects range from 18-20 and they are arrested on burglary and drug-related charges.

Wednesday, Sept. 15

A man receives an 18-month prison sentence for starving a puppy to death. Charles Lee Johnson, 43, is charged with a third-degree felony for animal cruelty.

Thursday, Sept. 16

Escambia County Commissioners vote to adopt an ordinance that would allow Pensacola Beach and Navarre leaseholders the opportunity to eventually own their property.

Friday, Sept. 17

Thousands line the streets of downtown Pensacola for Gallery Night, which features a theme entitled “Canstruction.”

Saturday, Sept. 18

More than 1,000 runners and walkers participate in the American Heart Association’s Start! 5K Heart Walk at the University of West Florida.

Sunday, Sept. 19

The Taste of the Beach weekend event concludes on Pensacola Beach with more than a dozen signature dishes from local restaurants and live entertainment.

Escambia County Commissioners select a new county administrator after a five-hour meeting on Friday. Randy Oliver, a former city manager in several cities over the past 20 years, will have a three-year contract with the county that will be reviewed annually.
