Nerd. In childhood it may not have been the hippest nickname, but now it has become a moniker increasingly embraced among some adults. The Internet, “The Big Bang Theory” and Ben on “Parks and Recreation” have changed the way most Americans relate to nerds. And by adulthood, most of us have realized deep down, there’s something we’re all nerdy for, so there’s not much use in pointing fingers anymore.
And into the ever growing “nerd culture” comes Pensacon—a fan convention designed to span a range of media and interests—including anime, horror, gaming and comics—within the Pensacola Bay Center and Crowne Plaza Pensacola Grand Hotel.
