Never a Dull Moment

Memorial Day weekend—sometimes referred to as Memorial Day Pride or Pensacola Beach Pride*—comes with no shortage of parties. For those who aren’t exhausted after a day (or four) on the beach, below is a quick rundown of the nighttime events scheduled on both Pensacola Beach and downtown for LGBT revelers and friends.

On the Beach

Pensacola Beach is the star of the Memorial Day weekend show. Pretty much every beach bar is bustling that weekend, but a couple of multi-night events are scheduled along the Quietwater Boardwalk.

Sing and Play at The Cabaret
Though it was hit hard during the flash flood in April, The Cabaret bounced back and is open for business for Memorial Day weekend. With events running Wednesday through Sunday, The Cabaret is the perfect place to enjoy a drink and a variety of nightly parties. Visiting from Atlanta especially for Memorial Day are The Armorettes, who will perform to benefit AHA! (Against HIV and AIDS) on Saturday and Sunday nights.

Dance, Dance, Dance at Emerald City
Local institution Emerald City is focusing all their efforts this year on parties at the downtown location, including Emerald City itself and its adjoining, sister bar The Otherside. House DJs Orlando Ricardo and Jay-R are working hard all weekend, but get a break on Saturday when EC welcomes guest DJ Roland Belmares. Ages 18 and up are welcome at all of the weekend’s parties, which run Thursday through Monday.
