A representative from the Florida Department of Transportation told the Pensacola City Council at its committee meeting last week that the Pensacola “Three-Mile” Bridge will be replaced in the next six years.
The current bridge has been in place since 1960 and was already under the careful eye of the FDOT since last year, when it was announced that it had structural faults and would likely need to be replaced. The estimated cost of a new bridge is thought to be several hundred million dollars.
