What inspired you to get started?
I always loved photography and treated it as a hobby until about a decade ago. My husband suggested pursuing it as a career, which I had never considered. I get to make other people happy by doing something that makes me happy as well. It’s inspiring every day.
Now that you’re established, what motivates you to keep going?
My team of photographers motivates me. As our company grows, its success isn’t just about me. It affects, and is inspired by, the other amazing photographers who work at AKP. I want to build a better, stronger business so we can all continue to serve clients for years to come.
How would you describe your business to someone who’s never heard of it?
We are a studio in downtown with six photographers on staff. Together, we photograph lots of weddings (about 85 this year), as well as families, children and business people. Our mission is to provide consistently top-quality work in a customer-centered environment.
What’s the next goal or project you want to see happen for you and your business?
Headshots and personal branding sessions. In our digital world (where your online presence matters and nothing is ever really private), everyone should have a suite of professional photos that can be used on a variety of social media platforms, as well as business cards, resumes, etc.
