Community Outreach: Sacred Heart’s “Clean Out Your Closets 4 Kids Day”

On Saturday, January 22, Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital will host “Clean Out Your Closets 4 Kids Day” from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Greenhut Auditorium at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.

Area children and their parents are asked to donate new and gently used including DVDs, video games, books, gently-used plastic toys and board games, winter coats, and art supplies.

“United Way is delighted to support Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital’s ‘Clean Out Your Closets 4 Kids Day’ by assisting with volunteer recruitment and logistics,” said Marina Holley, United Way Campaign Director. “We encourage everyone to help by cleaning out your closets or volunteering to help sort the donations. Many United Way partner agencies will benefit from the generous donations collected.”

Donations will benefit a variety of pediatric departments at Sacred Heart, including the Autism Center, Miracle Camp, Child Life, Pediatric Rehabilitation, and the Pediatric Care Center. Donations will also be given to other area child charity organizations and Escambia County elementary schools.

For a complete list of needed items, please visit sacred-heart.org or call Cat Ellis at (850) 416-1156. To sign up to volunteer, please contact Marina Holley 444-7143 or marina@unitedwayescambia.org.
