Running Wild has announced its popular 5K training program targeting those interested in leading a healthier lifestyle and getting into shape. “My First 5K” is designed specifically for beginning runners and provides participants the opportunity to personally train with running experts. Coached weekly training sessions will be held every Monday and Wednesday for 12 weeks, beginning April 11 and through July 2, at Running Wild. Participants may choose from a 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. session or a 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. session.
Upon completion of the program, participants will test their new skills with the Ronald McDonald House Firecracker 5K in Pensacola on Saturday, July 2, running as a team in the local race. Race entry fee is included with “My First 5K” registration.
Weekend clinics covering topics such as nutrition, stretching, injury prevention and running techniques—designed to help participants reach their personal fitness goals—are also included.
Registration is $250 and includes 12 weeks of training, clinics, a running log, fitness goal assessment, technical t-shirt and race entry. Participants will also receive a pair of running shoes from Running Wild, valued up to $140, with their registration.
Registration for “My First 5K” ends April 11 and space is limited. Register at Running Wild, 3012 E. Cervantes St. in Pensacola, or online at www.werunwild.com.
