PLAYBOY PICKS SCHOOL DISTRICT AS TOP PARTY SPOT

ESCAMBIA SCHOOLS FINALLY FINISH AT THE TOP OF SOMETHING
By Walker Holmes

Each year, Playboy Magazine ranks its top ten party schools based on criteria that includes a “bikini index.” The University of Texas took top spot in 2010. The Escambia County Public School District surprisingly heads the list for 2011.

“Normally we don’t take in high school and middle schools, but Escambia County School District made a strong case,” said Billie Joe Denny, official listmaker for Playboy Publications. “When you add up the light academics, the weather, ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ administration and the beaches, Escambia County has one heck of a school district.”

The Princeton Review disputes the Playboy rankings, although they do have Escambia County in its top three. According to dormsplash.com, the most raucous partiers in the nation are cloistered in residence halls at Indiana University in Bloomington, but the website believes the bathrooms, field houses, school buses and reading classrooms on the campuses of Escambia County may rival any college campus.

“The addition of the drug dogs hasn’t seemed to impact anything,” said Denny. “Drugs aren’t cool. Face it, the School District only reports one out of every three crime incidents to law enforcement. The rest of the state is over 50 percent. Most students can talk their way out of anything.”

The motto of the Escambia Public School District is “What happens in the School District stays in the School District.”
