What does your mother always tell you?
To go to bed earlier. Which I really should but rarely ever do.

What is the worst idea you’ve ever had?
Getting up on my steeply-sloped, black-shingle roof on a scorching summer’s day to try and clean the otherwise inaccessible gutters.

What is your favorite food?
I’m strangely fond of mushrooms.

Which talent would you most like to have?
A perfect memory, i.e. the ability to remember everything I read or learn.

What movies do you love to watch repeatedly?
“Aliens,” “The Hunt for Red October,” “Lawrence of Arabia”

What was your most embarrassing moment?
A middle-school rival pulling the chair out from under me as I tried to sit down. Not once, but twice!

What TV show is your guilty pleasure?
Pretty much the only show I regularly watch is “Archer” on FX. Truly hilarious.

What is the last book you read?
I read so many at once! But I just finished a neuroscience book called “Phantoms in the Brain” by V. S. Ramachandran. Also, I re-read “A Farewell to Arms” by Ernest Hemingway.
