The Pensacola Museum of Art (PMA) opens its newest summer blockbuster exhibition, Chagall for Children, on May 6th, 2011. The exhibit, on loan from the Kohl Children’s Museum of Greater Chicago, offers a variety of hands-on creation stations inspired by Chagall masterpieces.
Chagall for Children allows children to create mosaics, weave tapestries, alter Chagall’s masterpieces by use of digital touch screens, conduct symphonies, and through the magic use of video, even insert themselves into one of his paintings! A reading nook stocked with children’s books about Chagall’s life and work accompanies this interactive exhibition. The exhibition will be on display through September 4th, 2011.
The opening reception for Chagall for Children will take place on Friday, May 6th, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Hosted by the Museum Guild the event is free and open to the public. Reservations are preferred but not required. To place your RSVP please phone the Museum at (850) 432-6247.
