2- Culture Club

The Pensacola Museum of Art in conjunction with Pensacola Young Professionals presents Culture Club. This event is a dynamic monthly social gathering for young professionals interested in mixing and mingling amidst the atmosphere of the visual and performing arts. An alternative to the bar scene, Culture Club get-togethers include wine, beer and hors d’oeuvres along with live music and art work by featured artists each month. June welcomes visual artist Margaret Biggs and musical guest Nicole Ponder. Held the first Thursday of each month at the Pensacola Museum of Art, attendance is free. 9 – Pensacola Museum of Art Lecture Series
The PMA lecture series, now open to the public, was previously reserved exclusively for members of the Museum’s docent (tour guide) program. Covering a broad range of topics, the lectures will be presented monthly on the 2nd Thursday from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Museum Assembly Room. Admission is free. RSVP is requested. The lecture topic for June is “Renaissance Venus” presented by guest lecturer, Phillip Counselman, Assistant Professor of Art at the University of Mobile. June – August – Summer Camps at the Pensacola Museum of Art
Register early–camps fill quickly! Summer Art Camp participants will be exposed to works of art and related artistic techniques through interactive gallery and studio experiences. There are two age groups available: Mini Masters (5-8) and Junior Artists (9-13). Prices include registration for one class, per week, per child. All supplies are included. All fees must be paid in full with registration. Full Day Camp (8am-5pm) – Please bring a lunch and two snacks, avoiding all peanut products. For further information, please call Raven McBride, Director of Education and Outreach at 850.432.6247. The cost per 2-hour class is $50 for PMA members and $60 for non-members. July 1 – 2011 Members’ Juried Exhibition Reception
This annual exhibition presented by the Pensacola Museum of Art celebrates the artistic endeavors of its many active members in an eclectic showing of painting, sculpture and mixed media pieces. This exhibit represents a rich and diverse collection of works, ranging from traditional painting styles and three dimensional pieces to contemporary treatments and mediums. The opening reception will be from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Hosted by the PMA Guild this reception is free and open to the public. On Thursday, September 22, 2011, the Pensacola Museum of Art will once again present its most highly anticipated event of the year, Suite Soirée, a culinary evening benefiting the artistic, educational and outreach programming of the Museum. The event highlights the skills of five local celebrity chefs with each course complemented by a special wine selection.
