Intracoastal Outfitters, a Downtown Pensacola outdoor footwear and apparel shop, is participating in philanthropic shoe company, TOMS’, 2012 One Day Without Shoes barefoot awareness event to be held April 10th from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at IO’s downtown Pensacola location at 701 E. Gregory Street. All proceeds from IO’s event will go towards helping the Gulf Coast Kids House acquire shoes for local children in need.
To register for the event, go to www.intracoastaloutfitters.com and click on the One Day Without Shoes banner. Registration is not mandatory, but it will help ensure there are enough refreshments.
Meet up at Intracoastal Outfitters at 9:00 a.m. for a barefoot walk to breakfast at Bagleheads. Throughout the day, IO will have special ODWS promos including store discounts, hula hooping, sidewalk chalk art, and t-shirt stenciling (bring a shirt or buy one in the store). At 5:00 live music provided by Michael Lockwood begins, followed at 6:00 by a barefoot walk down to Pensacola Bay for celebratory photos. After returning to IO live music will continue and there will be food provided by Rodizio Gril. The day’s events will conclude at 8:00 p.m.
“We have made a conscious effort to stock products made by companies who are actively making a positive impact in the world. TOMS’ One for One program is an example of how easy it can be to help people who are less fortunate.” Said Wes Dannreuther, Operations Manager, IO
